If you are in or around Ashland Kentucky there is a new restaurant that you need to try!
When you walk in it looks like a small room with a bakery counter and you wonder where the restaurant is, check in for a seat if you walk in or check in for your reservation and the hostess takes you through a hidden door into a large restaurant!
As you walk through that hidden door you step back in time back to the roaring 20s into a speakeasy bar area and restaurant! The waitress brings you a menu and then brings you a warm basket of bread with dipping oil and spices!
The menu is full of options from paninis to wraps to pasta dishes, steak, chicken and lamb fill the dinner menu! There is a full beverage menu too if that is your thing I definitely encourage you to check it out, that is not my scene but it looked pretty neat!
The tables are nicely spaced and the restaurant feels open although hidden it is a real neat experience.
When they brought out the food I was amazed at the serving size, we arrived just in time to take advantage of the lunch menu, I was expecting a small portion but we received a huge portion. The taste was a 10 out of 10 the presentation was a 10 out of 10! I cannot wait to go back to Sals Speakeasy and take more people with me!
If the pasta is not homemade it was cooked to perfection, had a GREAT flavor and excellent texture, the alfredo sauce was smooth the meat sauce was the perfect consistency. more warm bread came with the pasta dishes. The panini came with a pepperoncini and potato chips!
Their official grand opening is next weekend so if you are in the area be sure to stop by.
