Spicy Mac N Cheese

Does anyone do a trial run of a dinner for an event or special occassion? We love testing out recipes before serving for a party or event!!!

I am really sad I didnt get process shots today of me making this yummy macaroni and cheese(a great excuse to make it again soon😉)

Recipe

Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoons butter
  2. 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  3. 1 cup milk
  4. .5 tsp salt
  5. .5 tsp black pepper
  6. .5 tsp cayenne red pepper
  7. .5 tsp garlic powder
  8. 8 oz uncooked macaroni noodles
  9. 1.5 cup cheese
  10. 2 pans to cook
  11. Whisk
  12. 4 ramakens

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Place a medium saucepan fill midway with water (remember to salt your water)
  3. Bring water to a boil
  4. Add 8 oz macaroni noodles
  5. Cook al dente
  6. In the second medium sauce pan place butter in and melt
  7. When butter is bubbly add the flour
  8. Whisk for 2 minutes (cleaning sides of pan making sure to get all flour incorporated into butter)
  9. Add milk slowly whisking the entire time
  10. Whisk until thickened
  11. Remove from heat
  12. Add spices; pepper, salt, pepper, garlic
  13. Add 1 cup cheddar cheese stir up(it may not look like the cheese is melted it is fine, it will
  14. Drain macaroni noodles
  15. Add immediately to cheese mixture and stir
  16. Place .5 cup in each ramaken(fill 4 ramakens may be a bit more or less)
  17. Take the remaining .5 cup cheese and add to top
  18. Place ramakens on a baking sheet and bake in heated oven for 20 mins.
