What is your favorite? I would say black beans are my all time favorite pinto have never been my first choice. Now I will happily eat both
Is there a better choice?
Health wise would it be better to choose black or pinto? This question comes up often so I did a little research and found
both have
- no sodium
- no cholesterole
- good source of fiber
- good source of protein
Black beans
- good for digestion
- high in fiber
- low fat
- protects against cancer
- improves cardiovascular health
pinto beans
- high in fiber
- fights against diabetes
- reduces heart disease
- lowers risk of breast cancer
Both are good
no matter what bean you ultimately choose the choice will be healthy. Keep in mind that black beans are harder and must be cooked longer to get them tender.
